Erick Anguiano was born and raised in Los Angeles by Mexican immigrants. He is the first generation to be born here in the US. As a child, Erick was raised in East Los Angeles around the Mexican American Chicano culture—where he saw hand painted signs, murals, graffiti, all of which inspires his style now. As Erick grew, he slowly moved more east, around junior high finally ending up in the Inland Empire.
He continued to notice letters, signs, and logos within his surrounding environment. Later in his twenties, he moved back to the city and discovered LA Trade Tech and their sign graphics program with Doc Guthrie and Carlos Aguilar. Throughout Erick’s life he always loved letters and signs—he finds that it is a great tool for the dissemination of positive messages and knowledge.
